Message from Lakota Elder, Chief Looking Horse

Chief Looking Horse May 12, 2010 A Great Urgency: To All World Religious and Spiritual Leaders My Relatives, Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer. We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the plant Nations, eventually all will be affect from the oil disaster in the Gulf. The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make. I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies. I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth. As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc¹I Maka). We ask for prayers that the oil spill, this bleeding, will stop. That the winds stay calm to assist in the work. Pray for the people to be guided in repairing this mistake, and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on. As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life. So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children's future and well-being, and the generations to come. The Season of Change is upon us now

Attended the wonderful Floracopeia certification in late April and early May. Came back and found May to be a very challenging month indeed after the full Scorpio Moon on April 27th.  Many things came to the surface for acknowledgement and transformation.

For me the recognition that one must draw the line firmly when presented with unacceptable standards, ethics, behavior. And, the body does not lie. I found myself with a horrid red rash after experiencing multiple levels of sustained stress at my job in a hospital.  It provoked not only the rash but severe emotional repercussions that I had to honor by being away from work for 5 days and doing lots of self care: body work, massage, flower essence therapy and gem elixirs.  I rebalanced, finally, after living thru the storms. I vowed never ever to let myself come to that state of distress.

NOW IT IS JUNE 17th and the Grand Cardinal Cross partial lunar eclipse is approaching on June 26th followed by yet another eclipse, this time a full solar eclipse on July 11th.  This has been called the most intense configuration of 2010 by many astrologers.

The BP Oil leak is continuing and getting worse by the minute. I would not be surprised if it blows the whole NEW MADRID Fault line open. God, I pray not, but, the forces at work are so very powerful.  The ocean is life, and as Jaques Cousteau said, when the ocean dies, so does life on planet earth. The currents, the life cycles, weather patterns etc. are responsible for our life, crops, livelihoods, etc. And, lets face it...we are 95 % water....it is a part of our spiritual archetype....the vast ocean of consciousness.

What can I do?  What can WE do?  Pray and pray and pray. Some have said the american people are apathetic and lifeless. They are activated by this occurrence and for the 4th of July you can count on many kinds of fireworks!  I cannot bear to look at the photos of the oil laden animals and the travesty that has become a sudden nightmarish reality.

HOLD OUR OWN VIBRATION in strength, focus, love, and grounding. That is the most important thing at this time, in my humble opinion. Black tourmaline, citrine, rose quartz....these will help.  Grief relief:  apache tears, amblygonite, and rose quartz.  Faith that this has some purpose in exposing the bribery of the oil companies and the politicians, judges, etc....the falsehoods must come into the light to be transformed and seen for what they are. We the people.....what do we want? To be empowered citizens in community? A faceless number with no voice and no identity?  Where do we want to resonate?  Love, service, manifestation, change?

We will be tested perhaps to the level of the 1930's and beyond. Has our knowledge given us sufficient spiritual depth and wisdom, combined with proper use of power and compassion?  We shall see my friends!  Remember to keep the faith and know that the Force is with us to be called forth. The time for fear is no longer...the time for truth and action, glowing strength and health is NOW.  Godspeed!

Back pain and the chakra set

Woke up a couple days ago and my back was very very painful....felt like something was out in the lower portion. My first thought, I have to call the chiropractor. Then, another voice came in saying, well, why don't you try the gem elixirs first and see what you can do with the situation.

So, I took Black Tourmaline, Carnelian, Citrine - and started doing some stretches. A few things self adjusted, but not all. I took them to work with me, drank lots of water, took my calcium, magnesium and vitamin D, and kept taking the elixirs and doing some stretches.  By the end of the day my back was fine, including a final major adjustment of my neck.  I was happy that I listened to that quiet urging.  Gem elixirs ROCK!

Fall became Spring

Sunday - April 11, 2010

Lots of rain falling here in Northern California.  So much has happened, and keeps happening - it is hard to keep up with it all. Many changes after 9-9-2009.  Attended a wonderful seminar in Grass Valley, CA sponsored by a company called Floracopeia. Many people came from very far away, Ecuador and Vietnam.  A gathering of people with a vision founder David Crowe calls, Replanting The Global Garden. And thats what it felt like. Wonderful inspiration, sharing of knowledge and a very well organized event.

I am very much looking forward to attending the certification event coming up in a few weeks. Plant Medicine, return to the indigenous cellular memory that I feel lives within each of us.

Disturbing to me to look at the USGS site and see that from Baja California (but really as far as the western coast of South America) all the way up to Alaska, the number of earthquakes is staggering.  I am staying out of fear and holding the positive vision that Mother Earth is just needing to do some shifting around.

I am grateful, ever grateful for the plants, and minerals, crystals and animal life. I feel so happy when I see the deer and bucks running by, not to mention the turkey clans, and sometimes even the quail. Most fortunate.

During this long span from Fall to Winter to Spring, I have attended a wonderful program out in Tomales, California with Alyssa Aubrey at Medicine Horse Ranch. She is a woman I admire very much for her integrity and spirit. Her 27 horses are amazing beings. Not all of them are specially trained in the Equine Guided Education modality, but, they are all intuitive and so very intelligent sentient beings.

The 6-month class was very educational and allowed me to go back and finish some internal business that I thought was "done" but was not. Very liberating experience to be with a small group of women, Alyssa as facilitator and the horses. Life changing is the true phrase of choice. I am still assimilating what I have learned during the September through March class series.  www.horsesenseforteens.org  is the link to Medicine Horse Ranch tomales.

I have begun drying seeds from squash so that I can plant them when the time is right. I figure if the earth changes becomes severe at the level of Haiti, and there is no infrastructure left, it will be a good idea to have seeds to plant. Seeds represent hope to me, so that is where I am starting.

Any way - that is my thought for the day on this rainy Sunday.  I have been reading a book a chaplain lent me, called Kitchen Table Wisdom - Stories That Heal, by Rachel

Naomi Remen, MD.  So very powerful these short stories that exemplify the power of the spirit and the will to live. And the struggles that physicians often face in owning their sensitivity to suffering while having to present the medical school version of "how a doctor should behave" ..... what a book, written by a female physician who has a disorder that has put her on death's doorstep numerous times. Highly recommend this book.

Alba was finally laid to rest in her beloved home of Portland, Oregon - some 6 months later. I was not invited, so I did not go, but my spirit was there. It was a glorious sunny wonderful day, and hundreds of people came to say farewell to this wonderful, friendly, kind, strong pioneering spirited woman. Alba Serrano, may you rest in peace with your beloved Sam. And now, Georgia carries on as the Noni, and she too carries all those wonderful traits. Kindness, helpfulness, friendliness, sensitivity, strength, fierce warrior spirit, indominatable woman who will fight to the end for family and friends.

I am ever grateful that they stepped in and offered me friendship during a most difficult period in my life kept falling apart, no matter how hard I tried to exert some control over it. It was that lesson of surrender I guess - "no you are not in control, so just relax and have faith." I remember having been sort of topsy turvy from May of 2001 until around June of 2004 - jobs didn't work out, living situations changed. I had finally gotten an apartment and was there 6 months when I was told the house was being sold so I had to move....I just sat on the small settee and very calmly said to myself "I have no clue what to do or where to go." It was that moment of surrender to the Divine. Not a lot of money, a part time job, and now, no place to call home.

Georgia stepped in and said, "Hey Urbara, Mom's got a garden apartment she would like to rent - do you want to come look at it?" I did, and it was beautiful and the price was right, and not long after that I got a full time job and things started slowly turning around. I learned later, over many a cup of tea or coffee at Alba's table, that she herself, had been displaced many times, through unforeseen situations that came up and forced her to become creative as well. Gratitude to my aquarian buddy Alba, and Georgia, and the whole family.   I plan to follow in those footsteps of being a friend.  Cheers, gratitude and warm wishes on this rainy day. May life bring you good things to make up for all your struggles and difficulty!

After the 9-9-2009

September 9. 2009 has come and gone. It was a culminating point after the 3 major eclipses (2 in July and 1 in the 1st week of August). Significant because it represents the ending of previous ways, cycles and the beginning of new methods and consciousness. Manifestation of our dreams and a global awakening has begun as I see it.

Not everyone came through the intense period from July to September. Some have left Earth and gone to the spirit/soul realm. All is as it is meant to be. I have said goodbye to a woman who changed my life for the better - Alba. She came to this country from Italy, settled in a new land in Portland, and learned a new language as she attended school and worked as a young girl. She had true grit, horse sense, a huge heart and a sense of humor. She was a dreamer and she reawakend the dreamer in me at a time when the flame was burning low due a series of life changes that took every ounce of energy I had to keep going. She and her daughter Georgia offered me a safe haven and a lot of love, laughter, a sense of family and inspiration. I will never forget her.

The day after dear Alba's departure, I was due to attend a seminar in Nevada City sponsored by a company called Floracopeia, entitled, In the Garden of the Medicine Buddha. I was emotionally very jangled and very relieved to get to the retreat site, surrounded by trees, and no cell phone reception.

The conference inspired me greatly by focusing on the living heart of the earth and the plants and trees that offer us humans their wealth in the form of food and medicine and pure joy from aromatica botanica. No farms no food, no plants no medicine or spiritual connection with the earth. Sunlight embodied, that is the nature of plants. They live on sunlight, they metabolize sunlight, which I find very very very profound. We can imbibe sunlight by partaking of plant food. They respire oxygen. Their immune response produces essential oils in minute amounts which are emitted into the atmosphere.

It was a magical time and it embodied the new energy of the 9-9-2009 - replanting of the global garden as David Crow has termed it. It was a wonderful crowd of around 250 people and we were all gathered from many walks of life. One man came from Indonesia, another from Ecuador. Global consciousness. Sacred Earth. All I know is that my grief was soothed and Mother Earth herself was present - the goddess, Gaia, in her sacred loving consciousness.

Tears well up when I think of things the presenters said. David Crow amazed me with his technical knowledge as a herbalist. and spiritual compassionate understanding of the ecosystem and our interconnection with Earth. In the Garden of the Medicine Buddha connects us all into the mandala of life in a sacred way. We all have special gifts we bring to the mandala.

Just listening to the presenters was proof: a Tibetan medical practitioner - a woman who went to Tibet, learned the language and went through 10 plus years of arduous study, a man who is planting 90,000 trees in Ecuador in an effort to save the rainforest, a man who has a  herbal Community Supported Agrigulture in the Boston area, a representative from Organic India who talked about how the return of organic farming methods is healing both the land and the peoples, and reducing the number of suicides amongs Indian farmers in despair about their lack of crops since Monsanto arrived on the scene, a team who produces distillation units for home use, and a new kind of nebulizer.

Through it all, we were provided with superb organic vegetarian food and given the opportunity to smell, savor, and digest numerous samples of essential oils, some very rare. I went home inspired, grateful, and in a transcendant state of being from the oils and the big visions that engulfed us all. I am still processing the information on many levels as it was so high and so deep, so universal on many levels.

Sound Healing with Quartz Crystal Bowls

Posted by urbara on August 22, 2009 at 10:56 PM Comments comments (0)

Today I experienced a very powerful sound healing. I went to visit an old time crystal enthusiast who happens to have a fabulous collection of some very large geodes, fossils, clusters, spheres, etc. Amazzzzzing to say the least. He offered to do a sound activation. I sat inside a huge amethyst tower. He had several huge crystal bowls made of crushed quartz, a tibetan metal bowl and a clear quartz bowl.  It was an activation of all the energy centers in the body and a clearing. All the cells in the body seemed to reverberate with the very intense sound. His recommendation:  imagine a rainbow moving throughout the spine, up into the pineal gland. Let the rainbow reside there. So, with the sound and that visualization, it was extremely powerful. Definately felt the power of the sound waves revererating through the crystal forest there. Whew. That was really something. I think I have been in an altered state all day long. I think it is cleansing the emotions, for sure.

Dear Friends,

I recently listened  to and attended an excellent tele-seminar with David Crow, a master herbalist and well-known author. It was extremely illuminating and very worthwhile. Thankfully, the whole thing was recorded.

David and his company, Floracopeia, have made it available  to listen to and download free

It's called The Dharma of Essential Oils and the Flowering of Spiritual Culture. It is a profound synthesis of medicine, ecology and spirituality and I highly encourage you to check it out. You can listen online, download it to your computer and/or burn to a cd or put on your ipod.

Click the link check it out: http://www.floracopeia.com/affiliates/jrox.php?id=1070_4_eaid_2

Best  wishes for your health, inspiration and happiness,

Urbara Scott

P.S. I found tears running down my cheeks as I listened. Very profound "connecting of the global dots" and the role of replanting the literal and figurative garden. Give a listen and let me know how you feel about it.

Its a New Day and New Way

Posted by urbara on August 15, 2009 at 1:10 PM Comments comments (0)

We have come through the portal of Summer Solstice and the rarity of the three eclipse cycle. Many emotional, spiritual, physical changes - speaking for myself. The transition from the past into the future manifestations. So many good things happening that resonate with my awakening manifestion of my gifts. I am most grateful for this. Much has been purified and tossed overboard. Things I thought I could never let go of have gone. Moments of extreme emptiness and doubt as to what is next. It is all reconnecting and beginning to flourish. The seeds are breaking the ground and reaching for the light. I am breaking ground and have sprouted. I am reaching for the light!

Great sunny day in the San Francisco North Bay area. Began my morning meditation with visitation, literally, of many many deer that appeared at my back fence. A doe, then a young buck, then another deer who seemed to have a malady of the joints. Big knots around the front leg joints, with some forming on the back. But still going forward. Yesterday a deer stopped by who had broken her right foot so that it was down like our feet. I started to feel sad, but, remembered that this deer has been going strong for well over a year and had adapted without being killed by coyotes. She is still very mobile.

Another doe and her spotted fawn also stopped by for carrots today. She and the fawn were chased away by the alpha doe and buck. She is a young doe who I knew as a fawn. I recognize her as she got into a tangle perhaps with a coyote and one of her ears was chewed up so that it flops over. Now she has a little darling spotted fawn who loves carrots and apples too.  Some days they lay under the trees and rest. If I am home I play certain music for them which they like. All very interesting interactions.

The young buck left, then came back. He was standing on the hillside when a blue jay came and landed on his back. Fascinating - nope I couldn't get to my camera fast enough before it flew away. Darn. But what a sight!

The deer, to me are very much about subtle energy. They are very very alert and aware, very sensitive. They catch the movements of light and sound. I have come to know these deer over the four or five years I have resided in my home. They know my voice, as I speak very softly and sweetly to them because I consider them my children. They look at me, they know me. In the mornings and evenings I walk near the church grounds and they are grazing - they start to bolt and I speak to them...they stop and look and listen because they know my voice. It is always a joy to interact with them. They are gentle and sweet, true. When threatened they have very strong abilities with their front legs and feet to break a predators back. They bound and bounce and they are gone.

So, the message for today with the appearance of the deer totem animal: Gentleness and Innovence - gentle luring to new adventures, gentleness with self and others. Don't force anything, nor be too critical with self and others. Express gentle love.

In the crystal world - sensitivity to the subtle begins to awaken as the crystalline forms begin to release their information once they find the right person. Yes. Crystals are meant to find certain people and connect libraries of information to them. Seems kind of "woo woo" I suppose. But, they are sentient beings with eons worth of information stored in their crystalline libraries. Intuitive listening begins to awaken. Sensitivities develop. It is very magical, practical, and yet very down to earth. They come from the womb of the Goddess. They have been through cataclysmic changes on the earth. They reflect longitude, latitude, ley lines of the earth, mineral chemical composition, vibratory rate, color frequency. Resonance with human beings on some level, as we are all part of the Grand Circuit of Life and the cosmos.  To me the ROSE QUARTZ is very similar to deer energy....soft, gentle, healing, caring, expressing univeral love.
